My name is Hope Anderson, and I am an English teacher at Leake Central High School in Carthage, MS. I have been teaching for 16 years. I spent twelve years teaching eighth grade reading and language arts. The last four years have been spent in my current position, teaching high school Juniors the wonderful world of American Literature. I have a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Delta State University. I have been a Beta club sponsor on the junior and senior levels for a total of ten years. I also founded a rewards and recognition program in our school that we like to call S.W.A.M.P. which stands for stop waiting and make progress.
I am married to my college sweetheart (who is also a teacher) and we have one daughter who is just like us, she likes to stay busy and try everything. She and I are involved in girl scouts and karate, and are going to begin piano lessons together soon. The three of us also enjoy traveling together and are always up for an adventure, whether as a family or with our students.
My name is Alicia Beasley, and I am a 5th grade language arts teacher at Leake Central Elementary in Carthage, MS. I have taught elementary for 16 years, worked at Mississippi Public Broadcasting as an Educational Specialist for 1 year, and have facilitated several online professional development courses. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University in 1999 and my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Belhaven University in 2016.
Currently, I am working on my Specialist Degree in Educational Technology from Walden University. Working at Mississippi Public Broadcasting with their online professional development program sparked my interest in educational technology. Students enjoy using technology so I have found many ways to integrate it into my classroom. Technology is not going away, so I want to help students use it responsibly and benefit from it.
My name is Angela Golobay, and I am a sixth grade teacher at Glade Elementary School in Laurel, MS. I teach reading and science, and I have been teaching for over ten years. I have my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I have served at my school as Beta Sponsor for six years and Cheerleader Director/Coach for 20 years. I have worked with children for many years in several capacities such as teaching gymnastics, cheer leading, and Sunday School.
I am Children’s Director at my church as well as Awana Game Leader. I work part time as a gymnastics instructor at Laurel Gymnastics and Cheer. I am married and have 3 wonderful sons. I enjoy teaching, and I strive to instill character, leadership, and responsibility in my students all while preparing them academically to be successful.
My name is Joni Moore and I’m a Technology teacher at Brinkley Middle School in Jackson MS. I began my teaching career at a private college teaching for seven years. The last three years have been spent in my current position teaching Information Technology and Communication (ICT). I have my Master’s Degree in Technology Education and currently pursuing a doctorate in Ed Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education. I served five years with MS Public Broadcasting in facilitating and evaluating courses with their online program ‘eLearning’.
I presently serve as Technology Student Association advisor and Yearbook advisor. I’m a mentor for youth programs such as Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and EMBODI for nearly ten years and sponsored by Clinton (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I’m blessed to have a beautiful daughter that keeps me busy with dancing, exploring museums, and traveling. My greatest reward is challenging scholars to make positive changes within their lives and communities by monitoring their self-worth and advocating volunteerism.
